Application areas

Reinigungskugeln in der Anwendung in einer KuehlanlageSoft deposits such as mud, mucus or similar structures are natural residues in cooling tubes, which can also occur at low water velocities of about 2 meters per second. These soft deposits can easily be removed by the use of cleaning balls of type “RS” without corundum. The continuous use in the pipe cleaning plant with approximately 8 to 12 ball passages per cooling tube is recommended. For hard deposits (eg calcium carbonate or other crystalline deposits) the use of “RA” balls is recommended. These deposits are e.g. During cooling operation by exceeding the corresponding saturation limit. In this case the corundum balls can dissolve these deposits with a basic cleaning lasting several weeks. A continuous cleaning with spheres without corundum is then necessary in order to prevent a renewed formation of germs. Cooling water with an increased tendency to scaling should be treated with regular corundum ball cleanings. Established has been the use of 1 to 2 basic fillings in a rhythm of 1 to 3 months. External protection layers are formed in cooling tubes with a copper alloy in connection with aggressive waters. For this purpose, it may be e.g. With an iron sulfate dosage. During the continuous operation of plants, these protective layers can become a solid and very thin film, which simply peels off when the pipes dry out. It is recommended to use spheres of the type “RS” without corundum. Once daily for about 1 hour, the cleaning balls should be used directly before the ferrosulfate dosage. This approach ensures long-lasting corrosion resistance. An optimal heat flow is also ensured at the same time. With this approach, the hard film can be removed. Another application of the cleaning balls is for corrosion-resistant materials. Although titanium corrosion problems and high quality stainless steels can be solved in practice, however, in contrast to cooling tubes with copper particles, a greater degree of soiling by microbiological organisms must be assumed. This is related to the lack of toxic effects of the copper ions present in these materials. For corrosion-resistant materials we recommend the continuous cleaning with the ball type “RB” (smoothing balls). The use of 8 to 10 balls per tube and per hour has proven itself. In addition, a basic filling of “RG” balls should be used every few months. This prevents a condensation which can be caused by heavily soiled layers.
